Day 1(32)

In a way, I wanted to start back at Day 1, like I have before on countless occasions. It's been 68 days since my last post, and it is amazing how life can change in such a short amount of time. Our family has been going through some major life changes that have turned our focus and energy towards a relocation. Between trying to sell and buy a new home and starting a new job, I definitely have some noteworthy excuses, but they are just that, excuses. I have not watched what I have been eating. I have not been planning my workouts and sticking to them, but this week that has changed.

In the past months, I've still got a work out in here or there, but it wasn't consistent. Now that things are getting into a grove and I've reconnected with an old friend, I've been making those smart choices and commitments again. Instead of returning to Day 1, I'm simply going to continue my journey. Life is messy, and you grow to adapt. What's important is that I never allowed myself to go above a set weight. I crept up to 230lb, but never crossed the line. It put me at a BMI over 32, and I could feel the difference. For the past few weeks, I've been putting my life back together despite the transition, and am already seeing that weight come back down.

This week is about consistency and sticking to a plan. Follow me on Strava at EriktheBlue, and help keep me accountable! This year I'm living what I preach, and will lose about 50 pounds to get back to my ideal weight with a BMI of 25 at 175lb. Calculate your BMI, and post a comment on your resolution for this year.
