This month’s chapter in The Daily Dad is about raising resilience. The Latin phrase, “Lector et emergo” meaning “I wrestle with and overcome” therefore feels like something I’ve had a lot of experience with. I admit that I, at times, feel tired out by one ordeal giving way to the next, and likely make it a little too easy on my kids so they don’t have to face the same mistakes, but this passage today emphasizes the benefit of endlessly manufacturing trials for them such that their life should be good, but not easy.

Hard work pays off, so let’s make sure we find work that is worth putting the effort into.
