Det er kaldt ute.  It is COLD outside.

Even Superman gets cold in Minnesota. It is 36 out, and even though I set the heater to heat up earlier, it was only 48 in the garage when I came out. About any colder, and I might have to move in soon. It’s looking more and more immanent.

I also pushed up the alarm by 15 Min to try to get a little extra time in to make up for the weekend since we will be away again. It helped me get going earlier, but I don’t think it will be enough to get going by my anticipated time. I’ll need the week to adjust. If I have any problems with hitting my target, I’ll scrap the full lift. At a minimum I’ll commit to the sit-ups. There’s always time for a six/eight pack.

Garmin just updated the layout of their app and I am obsessed with it. I had been considering the new iWatch instead as it was actually cheaper than the 935, but this upgrade just solidified that there’s no turning back. Great job, Garmin.

The workouts before were only about time in the saddle. I played around worth the TrainingPeaks heart rate zone adaptive planned workouts, by had to feel out where my heart rate was going to feel like and where I should adjust. I’ve dialed it in this week. Turning on a show for the warm-up helps with the monatany, but I’ve turned the TV off and dialed up the headphones with tunes as I hit the active portion of the workout. The highest point still in an endurance Zone 2, so still easy. It is getting my gently back into aero position and getting back my sense of cadence and perceived exertion.

TraininPeaks IQ still has me a little confused. I adjusted the lift to be based on heart rate instead of perceived exertion, but it still isn’t loading the workout. It also doesn’t matter what order I have it in on my calendar. Another issue to diagnose next weekend.

Until tomorrow, Happy Halloween!  Be safe, and keep warm.
