Grandma's Marathon - 14 Weeks Away

Sometimes you need a little motivation to help you keep going, so I wanted to set a tangible, yet challenging goal for the next four weeks. I'm signed up for Grandma's Marathon on June 17th, and only have about 14 weeks to train. My biggest barrier is my weight, a whopping 217lbs (And I'm already down 10 pounds from where I started). At best, I could hope to lose 2 pounds a week (another 28 pounds) which would put me roughly at 190 pounds on race day. This would be ideal, but I can't do it alone.

To keep myself motivated, I am keeping a journal, writing blog posts, and taking my picture daily to capture my transformation. I thought training for an Ironman was tough, but trying to balance life with a newborn is unreal! When I reach my goal weight, I'll publish my first fitness book: There And Back Again, Redefining the Dad-Bod.

Help Me Fundraise by Donating $1 Today

I'm running Grandma's marathon as part of a fundraiser with the Finish MS team that I manage professionally through the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. My goal is to fundraise $500 by June 17, and I'm asking for your help. If I workout every day, and hit my goals each week, I'm asking for your sponsorship: $1 for small goals, $5 for inch-pebbles, and $10 for mile-stones which I'll post online weekly. Let me know that you're on my team and support me today on my road to Grandma's by saying "Skål!" and donating $1 today.

My first inch-pebble is my 4 week goal of losing 8 pounds to get me under 2010. My inspiration this month is Hafthor Bjornsson. If you haven't seen the video floating on Facebook of "The Mountain," just check out his Rogue Bio. This guy is a beast, so when I reach my first goal, I'm going to reward myself with his signature Rogue Hat and Shirt. Skål!
